Will you join me in 2012 with these 3 things? I hope so!
1. Have set, manageable, written/typed goals that are SMART.
2. Always have a carrot (little or big, near or far (within 6 mos tho)) to keep me motivated.
3. Follow a plan that is proven, makes sense, and is consistent with your priorities and ethics.

I wrote this when I was 14 and I look at it now and I think 14 year old Kiersten should give 27 year old Kiersten a pep talk regularly.
As we approach a NEW YEAR it can be so exciting and fresh :) Before we make our goals for 2012 though, let us take a lesson from a younger version of ourselves, let us also look back at 2011 and take notice "what went well" in our lives and what areas we want to focus on to both "do what we are best at" and improve certain areas that are worth improving for our overall good, success, and happiness!
Bring on a grand exciting future with wisdom and perspective of what we have learned. And here is what I wrote from a 14 year-old Kiersten's perspective and I still believe today:
What is Success?
I think success is different for everyone.
It seems that the world considers success based
on how good of job you have, or how much money
you make, and the possessions you own. I don’t
believe this is right, true success is being happy with
what you are doing and who you are. Money and possessions
don’t always bring happiness, and I think success is happiness.
Success is achieving goals that you have set for yourself, it’s
living a peaceful life. Our society is always trying to measure
success, I think it’s easy to measure, it’s feeling good about
yourself and your accomplishments, it’s being happy.
