This April in Fitness Inspired, we focused on one powerful theme: growing our capacity.
Not by hustling harder… but by showing up with intention in three core areas:
And… we took on the American Heart Association Squat Challenge: 1500 squats in April! It was incredible to watch how normal it felt to knock out big numbers of squats during workouts—and then keep the streak doing 50–60 squats on the days we didn’t meet live. Many people generously donated, and as a group our squats and our contributions were meaningful, heart-forward, and inspiring. People met their goals, supported an important cause, and discovered they were capable of more than they believed. Our SHOW UP muscle was absolutely thriving. Perfect Attendance Shoutouts These rockstars hit perfect attendance for our Live workouts--and even added bonus sessions, completing 14 or 15 Live workouts total: Cindy, Traci, Terry, Meg, Jim, Jaime, Iris Honorable mention for incredible consistency: Bret – 11 Live workouts! The first muscle we always train in Fitness Inspired is the show up muscle. First, we notice where we are. Then, we build momentum with a toolbox full of strategies that help us keep showing up for what we can, when we can. This month, our community rose to the occasion—especially with library workouts. Shoutouts to everyone who prioritized recorded workouts, whether on their own or together: Cindy, Tracy, Terri, Meg, Jim, Brett, Jamie, Tanya, Iris April Highlights & Personal Wins Below are some of the standout stories and growth moments from our incredible Fitness Inspired Boot Camp crew: Meg Meg expanded beyond her baseline by rocking Fitness Inspired workouts and adding more movement into her workday—especially extra walking and inviting colleagues to join her. She got outside more to enjoy fresh air, involved her visiting family in movement, and added more color and diversity to her plate each week. Her squat total? 2,260 squats! She improved her range of motion, balance, and her one-minute squat capacity. Meg felt the momentum—and we felt her gratitude and commitment. Give it up for Meg! Jim Jim leaned into his homework, noticed improvement in his squat form throughout the month, and incorporated more outdoor time and longer walks. He added new plants to his diet and is excited to continue the rhythm as summer produce arrives. He exceeded the 1500 squat goal, improved flexibility and balance, hit 52 squats with excellent range, and improved body composition by lowering weight and increasing strength. His big takeaway? Optimism and momentum. Give it up for Jim! Jamie Jamie stayed motivated and fully committed to her workout schedule—even on days off from live workouts. She saw major gains in her yoga practice thanks to our mobility and squat homework. She added intentional nature time with nightly walks at least five days per week. She also loved the satisfaction of writing down and celebrating each new diverse plant she tried. She crushed the squat goal with over 2,000 squats! She improved her range of motion and rediscovered that beautiful truth: We don’t know what we’re capable of until we try… and we might just surprise ourselves. Way to go, Jamie! Terri Terri stretched herself by hosting Fitness Inspired library workouts while I was on vacation, showing strong leadership and consistency. She added more outdoor walks, increased her veggie intake, and once she hit 1500 squats she kept moving—but stopped counting, riding the momentum as icing on the cake. She rocked five Live workouts in one week, contributed powerfully to the AHA cause, and felt supported by our community throughout the month. Give it up for Terri! Iris A consistent all-star, Iris grew her intentional movement by getting back into weekend library workouts. She chose to get outside even when it was cold or rainy. She inspired her kids to try many of the diverse plants she ate—averaging 20 different veggies each week! Amazing. She hit 2,500 squats, led the charge with generosity for the American Heart Association, and noticed stronger quads, less tight hamstrings, improved balance, and better squat range. She’s proud of her whole family—including her husband—who has been rocking Fitness Inspired Boot Camp with her for months now. Huge congratulations, Iris! Tracy Tracy rocked 2,155 squats, crushed both Live and library workouts, and consistently shows up as a source of encouragement for the team. She makes the group stronger, more supported, and more connected. Big love to Tracy! A Closing Exhale Take a long, slow exhale. Drop your shoulders. Whether your name is highlighted here or not...whether you are in a moment of victory, defeat, or somewhere in between... Where you are right now is exactly where you need to be. As we step into May, let’s intentionally choose the energy we want to embody. Let’s keep practicing. Let’s celebrate our wins, our misses, and our wants. I feel incredibly lucky to work with each and every Fitness Inspired Boot Camper—this month, this year, and throughout my career. I love the personal training and coaching work we do together as well. And it’s been incredible to watch organizations and businesses raise their hands to incorporate wellness into their culture through our programs, workshops, and workouts. Get your hearts ready—this summer we’re weaving in something special that will offer a biological, energy, and mood upgrade to our whole community. I cannot wait to share it with you. Here’s to another amazing month, Fitness Inspirers. Let’s keep showing up, together.
