We have all settled into Fall now and what better way to gear up our intensity than to have a Rocky program?! The days may be getting shorter, but our energy levels, accountability, and competitive natures have all been kicked up a notch! Rocky is always a favorite program because it puts us all into teams, which really puts our accountability into another gear as we do not want to let our teammates down. Our teams lift each other up and help push us to new levels we didn't think we could get to. The Blue Bombshells, Yellow Sunshine Stars, Pink Panthers, Rainbow Warriors, Red Rabble Rousers, and the Evergreens brought it this month so let's see what happened! Yo Adrian! Check out Route 66! Yup, here come the Rocky references. Cringe if you want, but they are going to be thrown in EVERYWHERE...This month, we had three new drivers merging on to Route 66 as we welcomed Laura G, Angie E and Leanne F to our beloved highway. There are still two months left this year so plenty of time for a few more Fitness Inspirers to join our busy Route! 5 Eggs, 5 Prongs! Confused by that title? Every morning, Rocky eats 5 eggs for breakfast as part of his training regiment. How many prongs do you need to earn your FI crown? 5! Coincidence?!?! I think not...This month we had Megan S, Kate B, Leanne F and Laura G each earn a prong for their FI crowns. Then, on top of that, we had Leigh D and Cynthia T earn their fifth prongs this month which means they got their crown!! Woot Woot! FI royalty right here! You're gonna eat lightning and crap thunder! Don't worry, that is a quote from the movie said by Rocky's trainer Micky. Please do not try that at home. The return of Rocky this month was a much loved jolt of energy. Inspirers were definitely flexing their showing up muscles and pushing their limits to new heights. However, one of the best things that was shared this month was the communication and accountability amongst teammates. If one teammate wasn't going to be able to make a live workout, everyone was sure to check in with one another and see if they could make it up with a recorded class. The accountability was definitely on display by seeing the number of workouts people recorded this month. Loved hearing stories like that!
Rocky homework was no joke this month! I will never look at a basketball/volleyball/medicine ball the same way again. Bridges on the ball definitely made us incredibly sore the first time we did them, but practicing them each day really helped us get stronger and post test well! Rocky abs have their name for a reason as the originated from this program and adding the ball to the equation made it just that much more of a challenge. Finally, don't even get me started on the Rocky pushups as those bad boys are still making my upper body groan... Let's see what happened To crown a winner this month, we based it on three categories, team average attendance (which was based on goals everyone set for the weekly workout totals), team average inch % improvement, and team average physical testing % improvement. Let's just say the common denominator was definitely improvement. -As a team, the Evergreens had a team average of losing 2.7% of their inches! -As a team, the Pink Panthers improved on their physical testing by 86.6%! -As a team, the Red Rabble Rousers averaged 18 workouts per teammate for the month! -The Sunshine Stars were awarded the Rocky Cup 6 times this month! But there can only be one winner, and our overall Rocky Program team winner was.......THE RED RABBLE ROUSERS!!! Congrats to Kate B, Lisa Y-L, Angie E and Angie R!!!
