4 Tactical Tips to Make Your Workout More Fun

It's a personal goal of mine to make everything more fun! This of course translates to workouts as well. If we are having more fun in our workouts- we will look forward to that sweat sesh that much more! Here are 4 tactical tips you can use in your workouts and are encouraged in Fitness Inspired programs too
1. Build your Relationships in Conjunction with Your Muscle Tone. Your relationships can be your greatest source of happiness so here are some ideas of how your relationships can grow and improve with your health:
  • Invite friends to join you in your healthy lifestyle, workouts, and fitness programs.
  • You will be a compilation of who you are around the most, so spend time with healthy people.
  • Invite your family to join you. It is such a joy when any part of families do Fitness Inspired programs together! Anyone who is married and tried to do something without their spouse's support can attest how challenging that can be. Or maybe before you left home, you tried to do something that was completely different than your parents know or do. Going against the grain of your environment and your support system is never an easy task. Aspire to inspiring your family :)
2. Music to Your Ears.
  • Play some jams that will pump you up and have you exerting more energy (calories) than you even realize
  • Notice nature's music when you're doing outdoor workouts and activity
3. Have Novelty in Your Workouts.
  • We have all heard that keeping your body guessing is a great thing. Offering your body different workouts over the course of a given month for example, will give you more progress physically. But can also, give you the opportunity for more fun too.
  • I always feel good when I try a new exercise, progression of an exercise, or variation of a particular exercise, but I just attributed this fact that I am an exercise-nerd. I have recently learned though that "novelty" in experiences does in fact improve happiness (Rubin, Gretchen). So this phenomenon is not unique to me and you could experience it too!
4. Perspective of Glad. Get in the mindset rhythm of noticing what you liked during and after your workout. Start being aware of this during and after your next workout and strengthen that mindset muscle time and time again. Also, this may sound cheesy, but whenever you want to think or say a complaint - reframe it into something positive that you are working on.  For example instead of saying "my legs are tired so I can't do this very well" in your head or out-loud, say instead "it feels good to be working my legs like this."

To make workout fun one can seek buddy workouts as well. Having a partner not only sets tone. Also makes it fun and healthy competitive.
