5 strategies to try when you are just not feeling “it”

Here are five strategies you can try that I think could really help you when you are not feeling motivated! Or maybe you are in a downward spiral of emotion or mindset muck (like I was the other day ). Or it could be that you keep on not doing and being the person you set out to be.
These 5 strategies help me and I have helped other friends and Fitness Inspirers with them too! When I was writing these notes out, 4 out of 5 strategies began with a ‘B’ sooo of course I had to make the last one start with a B too! I bet you can tell which one it is.  But this way it might help you remember these strategies so you can apply them when your good intentions, plans, and motivation are just not cutting it. See you out there, friend!

First of all,
  • Be kind to yourself - As my friend texted, when I shared with her some of my sticking points right now she said to “be gentle on yourself.” She knows me well and knows that pushing harder is not my weakness. Which leads me to the next strategy...
  • Backed-- Have coach(es), therapist, professionals AND friends/fitness inspirers/family/social circles who you can be vulnerable with and who know you well enough to give you good council and support. Pay this forward as well! It’s so rewarding when you share with a friend a strategy, program, a coach that has helped improve your life and it might help him/her too!
  • Bumpers to keep you in line 🤪 yep just like those fun go kart courses that have tires to bounce off of that will bump you back on course. Let’s make sure we have some tires set up in our life that match our priorities to bump us back on the road we are choosing to be on.
  • Brave - inspired action, when you feel stuck there’s nothing quite like getting into both physical action to clear your head. And as quickly as possible taking one step of inspired action in the right direction.
  • Bigger than you! Have a cause, a person, a community, a purpose bigger than you!!! So that when you cannot get yourself “motivated” or you just don’t have the will power to get back up for yourself...you can do it for them!
