Have a better day when you do these 3 things--

Do you ever have a day like this? You start the day off on the wrong foot, feeling or being a few steps behind, and then you end up looking back at your day, frustrated realizing you were putting out little fires all day long!

I sure do! And it's so frustrating. It sets the mood for the day and the domino effect has been put into motion and it's hard to come back from it.

I wanted to come up with a plan to have very few of these kind of days, no matter how many variables there were. I started taking better notes of what was different on the days that I felt like I rocked it and the days that I felt like I was running a race from behind the whole day. And here's what I noticed--

When I do these 3 things first/early, I have a better day the entire day! I feel inspired and in the right mindset to rock out the day. I believe this can do the same for you! Maybe you will decide to join me? Or maybe you will be inspired and tweak it to fit you.  Here's what my three are:
  1. Do something to fill up my tank energy-wise first—- this is usually, yep you guessed it, a workout with Fitness Inspirers!! I’ve never met a person that after a workout says, "I regret that!" (No this is not a challenge 🤣) This also means that in order to protect this time it does need to be early in the morning. Wake up & workout!!! 5:30am is my favorite.
  2. Get your mind right-- This next one, the action changes a bit depending on my day. I do a quick check in with myself answering the question- is there anything I could do from a prep stand point to make me 1) have a better mindset 2) make what the most important thing to accomplish today more likely? And then set the timer and race the clock when it applies ;)
  3. Create before you Consume: Final thing is a newer one for me. And I got this mantra from the book “Everything is Figureoutable” by Mario Forlio. Her main point with "create before you consume" was to make sure you prioritize producing content prior to consuming content from everyone else. This has been helpful from a creative entrepreneurial perspective for sure. But something else I have noticed since I have been playing with this concept- is it also protects my mindset and keeps me out of reacting-mode. Even as I type this I messed this one up today in the middle of sharing this with you haha! So looks like, just like I have boundaries set up and in place to protect that 5:30am workout time, I need to get creative and set myself up for better success with this principle. With our technology the way it is, it is so EASY to “accidentally” consume content. For me, it's almost impossible to not react to something or at least be distracted by it--when the text alert pops up within eye shot for an example. Let your super-powers of empathy stay a super power and not having you run in circles all day -every day reacting to and putting out small (or big) fires all day long!

If any of these three resonates with you? Or maybe you have others or different best practices to share? Is there one, two, or three of the above you are committed to trying and trying again with me? please let me know!

Positive accountability within our Fitness Inspired groups and programs is so huge and important to our community. Thank you for upholding that value so well and I hope you join us and Make Changes You Love to Live With!

Go get it today!!!!

Love the ideas! Every night before sleeping I plan my schedule and food for the next day. It doesn't always pan out, but I have an immediate purpose when waking and if things get crazy, I have a plan!
