Do you want to feel comfortable, happy, and confident in your skin this summer? Follow these four practices everyday and you will look and feel GREAT in your beach bod! The more days in a row you get the more confident and amazing you will feel in your own skin! Get it!! Daily practices can be LIFE-CHANGING. Let me know in the comments if you are committed to getting after these with me :) 1. Wake Up and Workout!
Getting into the Daily Discipline of working out will have you looking and feeling better for both the beach and your everyday life. 90% of people who lost 30 pounds or more report working out an average of one hour per day 7 days a week (NWCR). Stick to this fitness guideline and you'll be ready for more before you know it! 2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast Start your day off right by eating a healthy breakfast every morning! Eating a good breakfast jump starts your metabolism and these healthy eating habits will make you feel better in the long-run. Breakfast is also linked to many health benefits, including weight control and improved performance (WebMD). 78% of people who have lost 30 lbs or more and keep it off report eating a healthy breakfast every morning! 3. Push-Up & Lift Up Step up to the monthly FI challenge of push-up & lift up with us! Set a timer for 1 minute and do push-ups for the full minute. Don't worry about counting, make sure you keep your belly button pulled in and engaged. While you are ROCKING your push-ups, think of someone you want to "lift up", encourage, inspire, and motivate today. As soon as your timer is up, take action in lifting that person up! By doing this, you will not only make their day, you will also feel more positive about yourself as well. It has been proven that encouraging others has several important benefits. For example, encouragement helps to provide us with energy to accomplish our goals, it gives us hope, it helps us to change our perspective, it helps to restore self-confidence, it helps to make people work harder, it helps to make people succeed, and it helps to build self-esteem (Energize). 4. Gratitude Journal Take 10 minutes each day, or right before you go to bed, to reflect and think of three specific things that you are thankful for that day. Write these down in a journal or even in a note on your phone. This exercise is so great for your mental, physical, and psychological health and it will allow you to focus on the positive events in your life. According to a 2012 study published in Personality and Individual Differences, "grateful people experience fewer aches and pains and report feeling healthier than other people...grateful people are also more likely to take care of their health" (Psychology Today). Gratitude has also been proven to open the door to more relationships, enhance empathy, reduce aggression, improve sleep quality, and improve self-esteem.
