Lovely Mantras + Phrases to Step Up Your Self Care

Try any (or all) of these phrases, and see what resonates with you. Even bringing your attention to your thoughts and the words you use, is a great first step in improving your self-talk.​
  • Workout because you love your body, not because you hate it! It's easy to tell ourselves that we need to workout because we don't like the way we look. We should workout because it makes us feel good and helps us live a better life!
  • I choose to speak kindly to myself as if I were speaking to a friend - Our self talk is powerful whether we realize it or not. Start noticing and reframing your thoughts and self-talk to something you would feel comfortable saying to a friend. 
  • Got a problem? Try playing with solutions rather than focusing on the "what if's" When I use the word "play" it helps me keep an open mind and not obsess. 
  • When trying to understand others and their actions, assume the best case scenario when thinking about their perspective
  • It's not always gonna be this way! It might be tough right now, but remember that you can't have a rainbow without a little rain :)
  • I got this!!!
  • I will prioritize my self-care - sometimes we get so busy trying to keep up with everything and everyone around us that we forget about ourselves! Schedule in some time to make sure that you are taking care of yourself.
  • I choose to have a positive mindset.
  • I choose to live happy.
  • I have this one body, I will appreciate it and treat it with respect
  • Food is fuel. I want my body to run well and have great energy to do important things.
  • I work out because I want to feel strong and uplifted
  • I am worth the effort.
  • Give out compliments and encouragement! When we surround ourselves with positive people and vibes, we tend to be happier. 
  • When I think positively about myself, I will speak more positively to others as well
  • My family and friends will be happier that I am taking care of myself - when you aren't happy, the people around you also suffer. We have all heard it said, "If Momma Ain't Happy Ain't Nobody Happy!" 
  • When you find yourself criticizing your body, replace it with something you're thankful that it has done for you lately. Instead of saying "oh, I hate my legs!" try saying "wow! Those lunges were hard, but my legs are getting so strong!"
  • In order to live my best life, I will prioritize getting help and coaching - sometimes the hardest part of self-care is reaching out for help. This doesn't make you weak - it makes you strong!
